Recoleta
This apartment was purchased for one of my clients from Australia. Like many of my clients he put a tremendous amount of faith in me and my company. He hired me over the internet based on my strong reputation and testimonials. His budget was somewhat limited but he wanted something unique and preferred a loft unit. He was open to buying a "fixer upper" and that is what I did. He hired me to come up with a design for renovating the apartment and I designed a plan and oversaw the renovations.
It is always a little nerve racking for me to select a property for a client. They are literally buying it with photos that I send them and my opinion on what we can turn it into. My client flew here to close on the property himself and he loved the property. He saw it for the first time after he closed on it.
The property is in a great location. It needed several renovations including the ones that I did below. The renovations took 3 months.
- We completely renovated both bathrooms upstairs and downstairs which were in horrible condition
- The floor had several cracks in it and we had the floors undergo a renovation that was very modern. It's a polished cement that is ultra modern.
- The walls were all repaired as there was extensive damage to them and totally repainted.
- The kitchen was totally renovated.
- The electrical wiring was completely changed out
- The plumbing was all updated
- There was no air conditioning throughout the apartment and we added individual air conditioning throughout the apartment in each room.
- One entire wall is a large window above the kitchen that was horrible and we had the windows all changed out.
- The apartment was furnished with modern furniture and all the space has been well utilized. The apartment also has wireless high-speed Internet throughout the unit.
Since purchasing this apartment, the value of the property has risen significantly as I predicted to my client before hiring me. You can see the before and after photos below:
